It’s not when everything goes well that you deeply appreciate a travel agent, it’s when things go “sideways “ that one understands just how great our travel agent is! Key advice on replacing stolen passports, arranging for last minute flights to a far away city to recapture our cruise ship, late night hotel arrangements and all without a glitch and completely transparent to us as travelers. That’s when you know how brilliant and experienced your agent is! Alena saved a very expensive cruise and made the trip memorable!

As I have mentioned before, the $6,500 fee for a name change has lost any and all future business with Viking. Nothing was populated, had not picked airfare or excursions yet, it was just a simple name change that would cost nothing. For a company to make profits off of other people's misfortune with small print "gotcha" language is despicable. I am 52, retired, love to cruise and will be happy to share my story with anyone interested in Viking. There are so many other options out there.
The cruise itself was okay but overpriced for what was provided. The only excursions included are a simple walking tour, some guides were good, and some were terrible to the point we left or joined another group. For everything else you had to pay. The nickel and dime mentality is very distasteful, sitting in the lounge the server asked my mother if she wanted anything from the bar and she asked for a glass of water - then they charged our room 5.50 Euro. They serve water all day long in the restaurant and hand out bottled water for every excursion, and stock the room with water but chose to jab you in the lounge, had we known we would have got our own.
It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the upper deck would be closed for 4+ days, that was a surprise along with the large spider in our room!

We all had a super nice time. The very small issue we had was we needed to find a contact for the private art room n then they only wanted to give us one hour but it all worked out without an issue. We all loved being on same side near each other. Ship room steward and main dining room stewards were excellent. Hopefully the ship will get a much needed " facelift" soon. Collette’s included meals only satisfactory. Medieval Banquet foods could not eat, but entertainment and service was good. Too many people squeezed onto benches, and we were warned Collette guests got COVID.
